Humans Need Water

1. Water is very important to humans.


2. About 70% of our body weight is water.

3. Humans need water:
(a) to control body temperature by evaporation of sweat from the skin
(b) to carry digested food to various parts of the body
(c) to eliminate waste products from the body

4. We can survive for several weeks without food but would die in a few days without water.

5. We need to drink at least 1.5 litres of water daily.

Science Snippets
When we are feeling hot, we sweat a lot. Sweating helps to cool our bady. Sweating also helps to remove excess water from our body.
